Riederalp - Aletschgletscher - Riederalp

This guided hike starts from Moosfluh, which can be reached by cable car and leads through the Aletsch forest to the "Katzenlöcher" where the adventure on the glacier begins. During this well-protected two-hour excursion, you'll learn some fascinating facts about the 20 km-long Great Aletsch Glacier and its history. Return via Moosfluh to Riederalp (option of going by cable car or on foot).

Dates: always on a Wednesday

Duration: total approximate walking time 6 hours (approx. 2 hours on the Aletsch Glacier)

Meeting point: 09:15 at the Moosfluh valley station, Riederalp.

Guide: Martin Nellen, qualified mountain guide

Number of participants: min. 6 people

Suitable for: minimum age 8 years old.

Requirements: sure-footedness, no mountaineering experience required, 1 pole recommended, trekking or hiking shoes (good grip), hat, jacket, sunglasses, packed lunch and drinks; shorts are unsuitable on the glacier (wind).
